October was a month full of fun fall memories! The kids and I went on a outing to find McIntosh and Sweet 16 apples, since we were purchasing a couple of apple trees and wanted to find a tasty option that would cross pollinate with the Honeycrisp tree we purchased. John wouldn't let me go into Byerly's and walk around the store after seeing the fun carts! He and Emma had to ride to get 3 apples!
Firefighter Emma!
John was thrilled to visit the pumpkin patch again this year and take our annual picture in the tire of the tractor. This year, he had to bend down to fit in it, but he still happily took the picture! He couldn't wait to find the perfect pumpkins to bring home!
Emma loved looking for pumpkins too!
In preparation for our Christmas card, my parents came out to take some pictures of us. After a few attempts, we had a picture where we all seem to be looking in the same direction! Bonus!
Emma has become quite fond of watching football with her Daddy and loves to walk around and say "touchdown" with her arms up!
All tuckered out on our trip up north for MEA weekend! Ahhh... quiet time for Mom and Dad!
Peek!
Time to go hunting with Dad and Papa!
John showing off the grouse!
Time to play in the leaves! They were so wet and it was a little chilly, but we enjoyed our time outside anyway!
Oven Glove hands!
While Phil was gone hunting to North Dakota for 5 days, I tried to do some fun things with the kids to help the time pass and have some fun Mommy time too!
John and I made a special treat for Grandpa's birthday -
chocolate covered pretzel pumpkins with sprinkles! Yum!
Emma dug through the cupboards while mom was busy... What else is new?
Both kids were goofy with their spoons at dinner one night!
We enjoyed some snuggle time one morning...
and made our own Gingerbread Play-doh!
We even decorated the windows with pumpkins, using our special window markers!
On guard! The kids loved the glow wands I found and of course, Emma tried to sword fight with John! She is such an instigator (although John rarely stops the chaos either!)
We had an all out giggle festival one day! John woke up from his nap and started to chase Emma and about 10 minutes of giggling followed. I couldn't stop laughing either! Emma was absolutely delighted with her silly noises and giggling, so the point where she just sat on the floor!
John's handsome preschool picture...
Happy Halloween! For Halloween this year, John picked out the elephant costume for Emma (no surprise with his known liking of them!) and wanted to be an Astronaut himself. We think they were two of the cutest costumed kids we saw!
Emma danced to wiggle her tail!
After trick-or-treating as a family for awhile, Emma and I headed home to pass out candy. As soon as Emma figured out what I was doing, she wanted to do it herself! The kids that came to the door were so patient as she put the candy in their bag! She was definitely cute and took her job seriously!
Where are the kids?
Sorting the candy...
We had our families over to see the kids in their Halloween costumes the weekend after Halloween and we made this cute cake for all to enjoy!
Emma - caught red-handed with John's ball launcher!! Trouble!
The kids had a great Halloween and John is already talking about next year! Before we know it, Thanksgiving will be upon us and we are so excited about the extended family time in the months to come!
