The month of June was a blur of long days, short nights and paint everywhere I looked! However, among the chaos, we still found time to play, run to the park and even took a relaxing weekend up north where I didn't have a choice but to sit and do nothing! It was great!
Emma continued to be "on the go" constantly and was starting to get into more and more around the house! She was the fastest crawler we'd ever seen! John was loving that his little sister could do more to play with him but at times, had to deal with the realization that she was now able to take his things as well! He was great at teaching her to share and how to play nicely as well. They have their moments, but overall, they are great friends and very loving siblings!
Emma showing off her new raincoat! Phil calls her the Hamburgler!
Loving the rocking horse at Nana and Papa's house!
Mmmm...Graham crackers! I think Emma could be the poster child for them! They are definitely a favorite snack of hers!
Both John and Emma love the Mickey car! John was great at teaching Emma how to sit on it, ride on it and even drive it on her own! He is so patient with her!
Emma taking Mickey for a spin...
It's park time!!
For Father's Day, John wanted to do a project for Daddy, Grandpa and Papa. He has always enjoyed the artistic side of life, so when I saw these bird houses, I knew they were perfect! Papa's looked like their log home up north, Grandpa's looked like the porch at their house and Daddy's was a rocket ship....because John likes rockets, of course!
Heading up north for some fun and relaxation in the sun!
Peek!
Sailor Emma on the boat!
To liven up diaper changes since Emma was little, I would play a game with her where I'd bring her feet to her cheeks and say "Ahhh" in a funny voice and she would giggle! Well, she decided to play the little game on her own one day! She thought it was so funny she could do it herself!
Cute little moments!
Emma, the twerp that she is, figured out she could dump her bottle out one drop at a time!
Being that Emma's birthday was in a few weeks, we knew we wanted to make invitations for her, just as we did for John's 1st birthday. We wanted a very recent picture though, since it seemed like her personality was coming through more and more every day. Here are some cute pictures (we're a little bias though...) from that fun little photo shoot I did!
Really, mom? Just wait til I'm 16 giving you this look....it won't be so cute or funny then!
This is SO Emma!
The 4th of July brought about more celebration and relaxation as we headed up north for some more fun in the sun and time fishing! John couldn't wait to get there and spend time on the boat! Emma enjoyed her first meal of spaghetti and loved the long noodles, just like John did when he was her size! At first, she was very dainty about how she was eating it, only picking up one or two noodles at a time...
then she dug in!
She also enjoyed her treat for dessert - chocolate pudding!
While we were up north, she also stood up on her own, but it didn't last long. We knew walking wouldn't be too far away though! She had to keep up with her big brother!
Moose John!
Fun outside!
It was hard to believe our summer was already half over, but we knew that this summer, like last, would probably fly by with all the events of moving and unpacking, time up north, painting (that had all been completed by the weekend up north for the 4th..whew!) and Emma's birthday around the corner! So many fun memories!
