The leaves have fallen, but the warm weather continues! However, it sounds like the true Fall weather will be upon us tomorrow as the rain and cooler temperatures move in. We do enjoy the crisp air that is perfect for jeans and sweatshirts though, so we will find the positives in the changing seasons!
John has continued to love every moment spent in his "big boy bed" and continues to sleep through the night as well! Last week, however, John woke up with a wet diaper and rather than doing his normal cry/wimper, I woke up to "Mommy! Mommy!" as he called to me from his bed! It was SO cute! At one point, Daddy went in to John and John told him, "No! No! Mommy!" as if to say, "Didn't you hear me, Dad? I wanted mom, not you!" We had to chuckle about our little man's persistence and spunky personality!
John loves to read bedtime stories at night. When he first was in his big boy bed, he wanted to read stories in his bed, rather than his rocking chair. However, mom didn't fit in the bed with him, so I would lay on the floor and read. One night, John came down by me and wanted to read just like mom!
Last weekend, the weather was beautiful and we were enjoying family time at home together, so we decided to head the pumpkin patch. John is anxiously awaiting the pumpkin patch...
When we arrived, John was so excited! There was a tractor and pumpkins everywhere....John's favorite things!
Big wheels!
Such a big boy!
When we got in the car to head home, John asked if we could get more pumpkins again. We told him we might be able to see more soon, but it sounds like the weather will not be cooperating the next few weekends. However, we can't wait to carve the pumpkins with him and see his fact light up as we take out the inside "goo" and seeds!
John and I have enjoyed our MEA break so far, although it always goes by so quickly! Phil is loving every moment of his hunting trip to North Dakota and is having some success finding the ducks, geese, grouse and pheasants, even though the weather is a little too warm for the bird movement they were hoping for. John and I have had lots of play time and are looking forward to more over the next couple of days as well! We had time with Grandma yesterday, and today, John had some special time with Nana Joan while my mom and I enjoyed a little shopping time in Albertville. John has been thrilled with all the one-on-one attention!
While we were making dinner tonight, I went into the freezer to cool off John's food. When I turned around, John had helped himself to an ice cream sandwich! We saved it for dinner, but John was loving his treat! I showed him how to lick his ice cream so it wasn't so "brrr...cold!" on his teeth. It was delicious!
We hope you enjoy your final week of October! Halloween is almost upon us and John can't wait to show off what a monkey he really is!
