For Halloween this year, John was a monkey and he LOVED his costume! We weren't sure what he would think about the hat, so we practiced wearing it around the house, but when it came down to wearing his costume, he couldn't get enough of it! We celebrated Halloween by trick-or-treating at Uncle Steve and Aunt Katie's house and then went to see Grandma and Grandpa Gunville too. John lit up as soon as they came to the door! We were sad we weren't able to be at our house for trick-or-treaters, but it was so much fun to see how animated John was this year. What a delight!

Look what Grandma and Grandpa gave me in my pumpkin bucket!

On Sunday, we had a much-needed lazy day around the house. I was cooking and prepping some of the meals for our week, since dinners are somewhat on-the-go for us now that dance team has started. John only napped a short time, so we decided he should help me make cornbread muffins. We pulled out his new Elmo floor mat for cooking and eating so we could make them on the floor. He was so excited the moment he saw it!

John's turn to stir!
Watch, mom! I can stir outside of the bowl too!

John thought it was quite funny when he had cornbread batter all over his hands!
John was a great helper! He even put the muffin papers in the pan! I loved having him be more interactive in the baking, even though it made for a bit more of a mess. I can only imagine how excited he's going to be for Christmas cookies this year!

It was great seeing your folks this past weekend! I'm a serial blog stalker too, so it has been really nice seeing these pictures of John - you can really see a lot of his personality coming through. :) Looking forward to seeing you guys at Christmas!
